What to expect in this course

In this course you will gain a practical understanding of the basics of personal income tax in South Africa.

  • be able to navigate SARS eFiling to complete tasks related to personal income tax including –
    • registering for SARS eFiling
    • obtaining your income tax number
    • filing personal income tax returns
    • how to read a tax assessment
    • how to dispute an assessment
    • how to obtain a tax clearance certificate
  • understand the different long-term savings vehicles and their tax benefits
  • devise your own long-term tax saving strategy and implement the strategy
  • claim back deductions and allowances from SARS and understand the basic accounting principles necessary to do so
